Thermal Fouling of Aromatic Hydrocarbons at High Temperature and Pressure in Batch Systems (HPT-FOUL)

HPT-FOUL (High-Pressure-Temperature FOULing) studies the thermal fouling of hydrocarbons at the high temperatures and pressures found in refinery and petrochemical units. A library of compounds is screened for fouling tendency, followed by time-resolved kinetic studies that separate gas-phase reactions from deposition on the wall. The results feed a database for predictive fouling models, building on the group's work on the formation and characterization of carbon deposits [138, 92, 76].

  • Kinetics of deposit formation under pressure
  • Characterization of deposits [138, 76, 68]
