Lamar Abdulaal is an Environmental Engineering student at the University of Colorado Boulder and a scholar in the KAUST Gifted Student Program. As an Undergraduate Visiting Researcher in MuRE, she investigated membrane-modification strategies for electrochemical CO₂ reduction, with a focus on ion transport, membrane performance, and system stability. Her work involved electrochemical testing and materials characterization techniques, including SEM, XRD, and BET.
Previously, Lamar completed an R&D internship at the Dow Middle East Innovation Center, where she gained experience in experimental design, chemical performance evaluation, and industrial research. Her broader research interests include CO₂ valorization, electrochemical reaction engineering, catalysis, functional materials, and sustainable energy technologies. She hopes to pursue graduate studies and contribute to the development of innovative solutions for carbon conversion and clean energy.
