While I was finishing my BSc in Chemical Engineering in 2018 (University of the Basque Country) I was also working as a process engineer at Repsol Refinery at Petronor site, where I took part in several unit revamping projects such as diesel and naphtha hydrotreating units. The main purpose was enhancing their performances in order to debottleneck the unit by reducing the reaction loops pressure drop and improving the energy efficiency in preheating heat exchangers system.
Besides, in my Bachelor final project I focused on the kinetic modelling, deactivation process and effect of water of the dimethyl ether to olefins reaction over a HZSM-5 based catalyst.
Later in 2018 I was granted a MSc fellowship awarded by the Basque Government, which allowed me to complete my MSc in Chemical Engineering at the University of the Basque Country in 2019. My Master Thesis was entitled as “Valorization of high-density polyethylene through hydrocracking-based co-processing with vacuum gasoil employing a Pt-Pd/HY catalyst”. During this period of time, I worked at Catalytic Processes and Waste Valorization research group at the Department of Chemical Engineering in University of Basque Country (Spain), I was involved in Lab scale development of refinery catalytic processes for sustainable fuel production from waste raw materials.
Currently, I am working, as PhD student, at the Multiscale Reaction Engineering (MuRE) group led by Prof. Pedro Castano in the KAUST Catalysis Center (KCC) at KAUST.
