Biography

Sherif Alabi is a Ph.D. student in Chemical Engineering at KAUST, working in the KAUST Catalysis Center as part of the Multiscale Reaction Engineering group under the supervision of Professor Pedro Castaño. His academic path began at Ahmadu Bello University in Nigeria, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering in 2021. He later pursued a Master’s degree at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Saudi Arabia, 2025. His master’s research focused on catalyst synthesis and kinetic studies of dry reforming of methane in a fluidized bed reactor. Driven by a passion for sustainable innovation, Sherif’s research vision centers on integrating catalytic materials design with advanced process strategies to enable cleaner and efficient energy systems.
